Mt. Yokogai

Mt. Yokogai, also known as Kamiyama, is a 594-meter-tall mountain in Saitama Prefecture, nestled between Kodama Town and Izumi Village. It sits at the junction of the Arakawa and Tone (Kanna River) river systems, and its summit is adorned with stone monuments like the Ontake Daijin National Honor. The area of Ideushi is renowned as a post town that once connected Honjo and Chichibu, and it carries a name steeped in the legend of the warrior Yamato Takeru and the hidden Christians' Deus theory. The hike starts from the Hirazawa community, approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from the nearest bus stop, or about 3 hours from Chichibu Railway's Nogami Station via Ideushi Pass. Reaching the summit offers a chance to immerse yourself in nature and history.
