Mt. Jomine

Mt. Jomine stands tall at 1,038 meters in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, at the border with Minano Town and Kamiizumi Village. Positioned at the northern edge of the Chichibu Basin, it offers panoramic views of the Okuchichibu and Nishi-Joshu mountains. The mountain is named after the ancient castle ruins located near its summit. At the peak, you can find Jomine Shrine, which has a history as a training ground for Shugendo, a Japanese mountain ascetic practice. The surrounding villages benefit from the bountiful waters flowing from this mountain.

The geology is rich with plant life, including natural colonies of fortune and setsubun flowers, and near the summit, you can spot Mitsuba azaleas and Chichibu thimbleberry. Near Jomine Shrine, Tengu Rock's centipede orchids are designated as a natural monument by the prefecture, enhancing the natural hiking experience.
