Mt. Mitsuishi (Mitsuishiyama), standing at an elevation of 282 meters in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture, gets its name from the massive rocks at its summit. Due to its rich natural environment, it has been designated as a natural monument known as "Mt. Mitsuishi Natural Forest" by the prefecture.

The climb begins at Kazusa-Kameyama Station on the JR Kururi Line, where it's about a 30-minute walk to the trailhead. Then, a paved path known as the Omotesando takes you on a slightly over an hour's walk to the Mitsuishiyama Kannon Temple. The sight of a large boulder perched above the temple's main hall is particularly striking. The temple is known for its principal deity, the Eleven-Faced Kannon, believed to bestow maritime safety and matchmaking blessings. Climbing further behind the temple along a narrow rocky path leads to the summit with a small shrine in the inner sanctuary. The views from here are breathtaking.

For the descent, it's recommended to take the back path, or Uramichi. This trail is a haven for ferns and an ideal spot for nature observation, enriching the return journey with its serene atmosphere.
